In less than a week, candidates for public office will once again be circulating petitions to get their name on the ballot. In short, this coming week is the officially beginning of the 2015 Election Cycle!
On Bellevue Council the seats up for election are as follows:
First Ward, one seat – Linda Woshner
Second Ward, one seat – Frank Camello
Third Ward, two seats – Mark Helbling and Jim Scisciani
To date, we have heard only rumors of candidates considering running for the seats. We have not yet even officially heard if any of the incumbents will be running for re-election. If you are a resident of Bellevue and have lived in your respective ward for at least three years and are willing to commit to the job requirements of serving on Bellevue Council, we encourage you to consider running for one of the seats listed above. The more candidates, the better, as our community suffers greatly when few get involved in the local government.
Liberty in Bellevue can confirm at least one candidate for council in Bellevue’s Third Ward. The founder and president of LiB and former candidate for State Representative, Tom Fodi, has publicly announced his intention to run for one of the two seats up for election this year in the Third Ward. Click here to see Tom’s public announcement.
Additionally, as has previously been noted, thanks to our partners at A Better Bellevue, Bellevue voters will once again have the opportunity to vote to allow restaurant-style alcohol sales in our community. They will begin circulating petitions on which they must gather at least 500 signatures in order to give the community this choice during the May 19 primary.
Stay tuned for more Election 2015 news as it becomes available!
